Cleaning Guide – How to Keep the Apartment Properly Clean

Proper cleaning of the apartment is part of the tenant’s contractual obligations and contributes to a pleasant living atmosphere.

Room

• Clean windows with glass cleaner and a cloth

• Wipe down surfaces (desk, windowsill, shelves) with a damp cloth and all-purpose cleaner

• Vacuum the floor and mop if needed; add cleaning solution to the water when mopping

Kitchen

• Clean windows with glass cleaner

• Wipe work surfaces and sink with all-purpose cleaner

• Clean stovetop or ceramic hob

• Use oven cleaner for the oven (follow the instructions on the packaging)

• Wipe out the refrigerator with a damp cloth and all-purpose cleaner

Bathroom

• Clean windows with glass cleaner (if present)

• Clean sink, shower or bathtub with bathroom cleaner

• Clean mirror with cloth and glass cleaner

• Clean toilet with toilet cleaner and brush

• Wipe the outside of the toilet (seat, lid, flush button) with all-purpose cleaner

Hallway & Shared Areas

• Clean windows with glass cleaner (if present)

• Vacuum or mop the floor using all-purpose cleaner

• Wipe door handles and light switches with a damp cloth

• Keep the area tidy and free of tripping hazards

Balcony (if applicable)

• Clean windows and balcony door with glass cleaner

• Sweep the floor

• Mop the floor if necessary with water and all-purpose cleaner

• Remove leaves and debris
